For Patients
What to expect at your appointment
Transparency is vital to a good patient-doctor relationship. When you schedule your appointment, we’ll let you know how long we expect it to be, so you can plan the rest of your day.
Due to our specialized evaluation techniques and the possibility of further testing, we ask you to allow at least two hours for your visit. Your appointment may be longer, depending upon the treatment needed.
We treat unpredictable emergencies at our practice immediately, and unfortunately, they occasionally delay our appointment schedule.
For your appointment, please bring:
- Photo ID
- Insurance card
- List of medications you are currently taking
If time allows, we will mail your new patient paperwork in advance of your appointment, so you can complete it and bring it with you.
Eye Dilation
Most appointments require eye dilation. This process can result in blurred vision for an unpredictable length of time. You may also experience sensitivity to bright lights.
We strongly recommend bringing a driver to your appointment because driving may be difficult immediately after an examination.
We reserve the right to refuse treatment to patients unaccompanied by a driver.
Insurance
We accept most private insurances, including Medicare. Please visit the Insurance and Appointments page for more information about what insurance we accept, our participation in the Medicare program, and other payment expectations.
You can also contact our office with specific questions about insurance.
